Joel Awarded Centennial Teaching Honor

Congratulations, Joel!

At the close of the 2018-19 academic year, Joel received the Centennial TA Award in recognition of his contributions to the Kinetics & Reaction Engineering class in the department, a core graduate-level class required for most first year students. The annual award "recognizes outstanding teaching assistants for their tremendous service and dedication in providing excellent classroom instruction for Stanford students." The award is given by the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching & Learning (VPTL), and students across the Schools of Engineering, Earth, and Humanities & Sciences are eligible. He was a member of the class's teaching team for two years, and as a part of his teaching work, he developed and gave multiple lectures of new content and expanded the course's assessment framework. In the coming year, Joel will be stepping into new teaching roles as the department's Head Mentor TA and as the instructor for one of the department's core undergraduate courses.
